It’s only a few days away - Virtual #CochraneSantiagoNext week is our first Virtual Colloquium and we are delighted to showcase the fabulous work of hundreds of Cochrane contributors.

Dr David Sackett was an originator of clinical epidemiology and evidence-based medicine. He contributed extensively to the development of research methods through his books and published articles, as well as through education and lectures at McMaster and around the world. Notably he turned clinical research into a scientifically sound and practical multidisciplinary “team sport,” and has changed for the better the quality of healthcare research and clinical practice.

The Cochrane Priority Reviews List is a ‘living’ record of Cochrane’s ongoing efforts to identify reviews that are of greatest importance to our stakeholders and are likely to impact significantly on health outcomes worldwide. The list is updated in real time as reviews are published and new titles added.

At the close of its meeting today, Cochrane’s Governing Board extended its grateful thanks to Gabriel Rada, the Local Organizing Team at Cochrane Chile, Cochrane Iberoamerica, and support from Cochrane’s Central Executive Team for their outstanding work in preparing for the 2019 Santiago Colloquium.

Muriah Umoquit is Communications and Analytics Officer with Cochrane’s Knowledge Translations team. She has attended and presented at many academic conferences before, with Vienna 2015 being her first Colloquium. 

Cochrane is delighted to announce the publication of the new edition of the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions following  extensive revision. Designed for authors and editors of Cochrane Reviews, but equally useful for anyone conducting systematic reviews, it describes the methods and best practices in planning, conducting and interpretation of systematic reviews to inform decision-making around the use of health and healthcare interventions.

The deadline for standard registration for the 2019 Cochrane Colloquium is quickly approaching: it is this Thursday September 26th!
