Dear Cochrane Colloquium colleagues and friends,It is with the deepest disappointment and regret that I announce the cancellation of Cochrane Colloquium Toronto scheduled for October 4-7, 2020, as a result of the continued spread and impact of COVID-19 (coronavirus) across the world.

Cochrane Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Adrienne Stevens as Managing Director, effective April 22, 2020. Dr. Stevens recently served as a Clinical Research Manager with the Knowledge Synthesis Group at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI), which included her role as the Scientific Lead of the Ottawa Evidence Review Synthesis Centre. She is a Co-Convenor of the Cochrane Rapid Reviews Methods Group.  

Cochrane launches its COVID-19 Study Register – a one-stop shop for primary research studies on COVID-19. 

A pressing need for Cochrane Canada's evidence

Dear Community Colleagues,  As a result of the continued spread and impact of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) across the world, we wanted to update you with important news and information regarding Cochrane’s 27th annual Colloquium in Toronto, 4-7th October, 2020. 

The 2019 Coronavirus outbreak was declared a global Public Health Emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 30th January 2020.  The WHO is now working closely with global experts, governments and partners to rapidly expand scientific knowledge on this new virus, to track the spread and virulence of the virus, and to provide advice to countries and individuals on measures to protect health and prevent the spread of this outbreak.

The 27th Cochrane Colloquium, Toronto 2020 abstract and workshop submission deadline has been extended to 23 March 2020.

A number of stipends and bursaries are available to help consumers and other attendees based in developing countries to attend Cochrane Colloquium Toronto 2020. This is our 27th annual flagship event and this year it will take place at The Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, Canada, 4-7 October 2020.
