Cochrane Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Adrienne Stevens as Managing Director, effective April 22, 2020.
Dr. Stevens recently served as a Clinical Research Manager with the Knowledge Synthesis Group at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI), which included her role as the Scientific Lead of the Ottawa Evidence Review Synthesis Centre. She is a Co-Convenor of the Cochrane Rapid Reviews Methods Group.
“Adrienne is a highly respected researcher and we are thrilled to have her join us as Managing Director,” said Dr. Holger Schünemann, director of Cochrane Canada. “She brings an exemplary record of leadership, scholarship and capacity building that I’m convinced will inspire the team at the Michael G. DeGroote Cochrane Canada Centre and Cochrane Canada, as well as her many colleagues across the organization.”
After obtaining a BSc in Biology from Mount Allison University, Dr. Stevens completed a MSc in Biology at McMaster University and a PhD in Epidemiology at the University of Split School of Medicine, Croatia.
“This is an exciting opportunity and I am looking forward to getting started,” said Dr. Stevens. “One of my priorities will be to increase recognition among our current and future partners of the timely and reliable research evidence we produce, and how vital it is to informing health decision-making here in Canada and around the world.”
